| After a number of years of tangental contact with the art world Christina’s latent creativity came to fruition in her thirties in the form of mixed media and painted work. Recently she has expanded into 3d pieces. Her work has found demand both amongst private collectors and as focal points in retail interiors, she is currently in dialogue with leading Interior Designers about commissioned work.
Based in the northern Kent countryside, England, Christina’s work has found a new audience via her website WhateverArt.com and has pushed her to take a more public role in representing her art.
To the naked eye Christina’s work is a hybrid mix of delicate images, swathes of robust colours and imaginative features. Influences range from Pierre Soulages, Morris Louis’s 'Unfurleds' series, Nicolas De Staël and Léon Spilliaert to the more well known Antoni Tapies and Mark Rothko.
Recently Christina has ventured into producing relief 3d work inspired by Richard Diebenkorn, Lucio Fontana, Robert Mangold’s irregular work, Jean Arp and the often overlooked South London enigma, Howard Hodgkin.
She has a self funded practice of continual and evolutionary visual exploration by practical research, utilising assistants from a wide range of backgrounds such as master craftsmen carpenters, specialist plasterers, colourists and graphic designers.
Take a look at the online galleries to view Christina’s work and appreciate her creative vision of a stunning, subtle yet strident take on contemporary art. Commission approaches are preferred by email. |
